Scope

SECNAVINST 5730.5K establishes the policies and procedures for the conduct of congressional affairs in the Department of the Navy (DON). The Chief of Legislative Affairs (CLA) is the SECNAV principal staff assistant for legislative functions. The Legislative Assistant to the Commandant of the Marine Corps (LA to CMC) holds the equivalent role for Marine Corps matters. Signed by SECNAV 1 May 2018. Applicability is the DON.
