Scope
DODI 1340.26 establishes DoD policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for Assignment Incentive Pay (AIP) and Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP). The instruction was issued effective 25 September 2017 with Change 1 issued 11 January 2019. The instruction reissues the prior AIP instruction and incorporates and cancels the prior DODI 1304.27 (Award and Administration of Special Duty Assignment Pay, April 22, 2015), bringing AIP and SDAP under one DoD instruction.
