USPS Domestic Mail Manual (DMM)

Scope

The USPS Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) sets the mailing standards for domestic mail services. The DMM governs eligibility, preparation, classes of mail, prices, rates and fees, mail and label preparation, mailability, hazardous materials restrictions, registered and certified mail, return receipts, address and postage requirements, and military and diplomatic mail special standards. The manual is incorporated by reference into 39 CFR 111 and is binding on every commercial and government mailer using the US Postal Service.
