SECNAVINST 5210.16 - Department of the Navy Reports Management Program

Scope

SECNAVINST 5210.16 establishes the Department of the Navy Reports Management Program. The instruction sets policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for managing DON-wide information collections, implementing the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, 44 USC Chapter 35, and 5 CFR Part 1320 at the department level. MCO 5214.2G implements the framework for the Marine Corps, and the IGMC reports management functional area inspects against both.

• The continuity binder physically includes the current instruction beside MCO 5214.2G, the reports inventory, and the three-year review documentation. The IGMC checklist verifies the copy is the current version.
• A new issuance of this instruction or MCO 5214.2G triggers a command directive update.
