Maintaining Non-Judicial Punishment Information. When a Marine is awarded non-judicial punishment under Article 15, UCMJ, the unit must report non-judicial punishment statistical information on the unit diary in addition to reporting the non-judicial punishment information. This information, when processed, will post the information to the Marine's record where it will be retained permanently in MCTFS 119 Remark. Report as follows:

VESSEL OPT [B] LAWYER OPT [C] ED [D] | HIST: History statement should include statistical information (That is, Violation Article 92) and all punishment awarded.

• [A] 8-byte Date of Action (YYYYMMDD)

• [B] VESSEL OPT [C] LAWYER OPT

• [D] 8-byte Effective Date (YYYYMMDD) of Non-Judicial Punishment

VESSEL OPTION CODES A – I do not demand trial and will accept non-judicial punishment, subject to my right of appeal. B – I demand trial and refuse non-judicial punishment. C – I cannot demand trial because I am attached to or embarked upon a vessel.

LAWYER OPTION CODES A – I “have” been given the opportunity to consult with a Military Lawyer. B – I “have not” been given the opportunity to consult with a Military Lawyer

• Note 1: When non-judicial punishment (TTC 268) is reported, three-month promotion restriction posts automatically. Refer to Paragraph 70702. ENLISTED RESTRICTED PROMOTIONS.

• Note 2: Punishment that does not affect pay, pay grade, or any other personnel data item may be reported with a history statement.

• Note 3: A new Good Conduct Medal commencement date must be reported per Section 50100 of this manual.
