MARADMIN 515/25 - Non-Competitive Intended Military Occupational Specialty Promotions for Active Component

Scope

MARADMIN 515/25 announces non-competitive Intended Military Occupational Specialty (IMOS) promotions to Sergeant for the Active Component, effective 2025-10-01. The message succeeds MARADMIN 469/24, the FY25 IMOS framework, which it cancels. Corporals in one of eight designated MOSs earn promotion to Sergeant by meeting the eligibility criteria rather than competing against a JEPES cutting score. Applicability is the Active Component only.

• Corporals holding or training into one of the eight designated MOSs. Eligible for non-competitive promotion to Sergeant.
• Career planners. Confirm the reenlistment requirement before processing.
• S-1 staff and IPACs. Process the promotion warrant through MCTFS.

Program rules

• The eight covered MOSs are 0211, 0372, 1751, 2336, 3044, 4133, 4821, and 5821.
• There are no non-competitive IMOS promotions to Corporal, per paragraph 2. The path is Cpl to Sgt only.
• Marines disenrolled from the program are administratively reduced effective the date of disenrollment notification, per paragraph 2.d.
• The policy is not applicable to the Marine Corps Reserve, per paragraph 4.
• PME completion is required. TIG and TIS requirements follow MCO P1400.32D.
• Promotion under this path bypasses the JEPES cutting score competition.
