MARADMIN 199/26 - Update to Marine Corps Common Military Training Requirements

Scope

MARADMIN 199/26 announces the release of the revised MCO 1500.63A Marine Corps Common Military Training Requirements. The revision aligns with the SECWAR Memorandum dated 2025-09-30 directing the reduction of mandatory training requirements. CMT requirements shift from annual to biennial frequency unless otherwise directed. The MARADMIN is a coordinated message between DC T&E and DC M&RA. Applicability is the Total Force.

Audience

• Service-level CMT content owners. Review training content for compliance. Submit content to TECOM TSD for MCTIMS publication.
• Initial Entry-Level Schools (Marine Corps Recruit Depot, The Basic School). Implement POI changes and submit revised POIs to TECOM TSD.
• Commanders and Supporting Establishments. Verify training completion dates align with revisions made to MCTIMS reporting codes. Report MCTIMS discrepancies to TECOM TSD.
• Unit training officers and S-3 training shops. Align unit training to the biennial cadence under reference (B).
• Marines who completed non-core CMT in calendar year 2025. Current through calendar year 2027.
• Marines who did not complete non-core CMT in calendar year 2025. Due for training in calendar year 2026.
• Equal Opportunity Advisors, Suicide Prevention Program Coordinators. Subject matter experts supporting leader-led training.

Training cadence

• Service-level core requirements. Listed in MCO 1500.63A Section I. Unchanged.
• Non-core requirements. Listed in MCO 1500.63A Section II. Annual to biennial.
• Initial Entry. Provides foundational CMT to set the baseline for new accessions. Continues under the new framework.
• Unit training. Structured and tailored to rank-specific needs.

Task list

1. Service-level CMT content owners. Provide support to initial entry-level training locations. Confirm POIs comply with the SECWAR memo, MCO 1500.63A, and DoDI 1322.31, when required. Within 60 days of release, review training content and submit to TECOM TSD for MCTIMS Training Resource module publication.
2. Initial Entry-Level Schools. Within 60 days, implement POI changes as required. By 2026-09-30, submit revised POIs to TECOM TSD for review and approval.
3. Commanders and Supporting Establishments. Within 30 days, verify training completion dates align with MCTIMS reporting code revisions. Within 60 days, report MCTIMS discrepancies to TECOM TSD.

Tracking and codes

• MCTIMS. Single authoritative system for documenting and reporting CMT.
• Initial entry-level training codes. 808 for Recruit Training. RMG for Basic Officer Training.
• Sustainment training codes. Appropriate code per CMT requirement.

Constraints

• Supplemental material prohibition. Commanders are barred from supplementing provided training materials without prior approval from DC, T&E or DC, M&RA. Commanders are encouraged to seek credentialed subject matter experts (Equal Opportunity Advisors, Suicide Prevention Program Coordinators).
• Waiver authority. The first General Officer in the individual chain of command.
